CALGARY — Rain wear is coming out of storage in southern Alberta as the region prepares for what is forecast to be a major soaking.
A rainfall warning has been issued for southwestern areas of the province, including Pincher Creek, Crowsnest Pass and Waterton Lakes National Park.
Heavy rain is expected to develop as a slow-moving weather system slides into Alberta.
The showers will last until Saturday with total amounts expected to be somewhere between 60 and 90 millimetres.
Some locations could get as much as 100 millimetres.
The Calgary region is not included in the rainfall warning.
