Low income transport subsidy program receives financial boost

The Red Deer Action Group Society received a $5,000 grant for its subsidy ride program from the Red Deer and District Community Foundation. The four-year-old program targets low income residents of Red Deer and Sylvan Lake.

Those who wish to apply to the program must submit proof of income and travel receipts (bus passes/tickets/taxi/gas) to receive 25% reimbursement up to $150 in a calendar year.

Travel in a personal vehicle is reimbursed at 10 cents/kilometre.
