Although an official tally has yet to be completed, the Red Deer Rotary mac and cheese lunch was a big success.
Early estimates have the fundraiser for the Red Deer Royals Marching Band generating between $85,000 to $90,000. The money will go towards new uniforms, instruments and a donation to the ‘find a home’ campaign for the band.
The event, which took place on June 5 at the Red Deer Sheraton, was highlighted by Richard Picciotto, a New York City fire chief who survived 9/11 even though he was in one of the towers as it collapsed.
