A suspect in the armed robbery of a Mac’s Convenience Store has been arrested and charged.

Red Deer RCMP arrested and charged a 16-year-old youth, who cannot be named because of his age, after he allegedly brandished a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes around 3:15 a.m. at the 2950 22nd St. location on Wednesday.

Police arrested the suspect around 11:30 p.m. in Red Deer.

He has been released from custody and will appear in provincial court on May 1.
