EDSON, Alta. — A preliminary hearing is scheduled to begin May 25 for the man charged in the slaying of a teenage girl whose body was found on a popular walking trail in Edson, Alta. last fall.
Ross Edward Kleman is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 14-year-old Emily Stauffer, the daughter of a local minister.
The preliminary hearing will determine if there’s enough evidence to proceed to a trial and is expected to last more than two weeks.
Kleman has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
