LETHBRIDGE — A southern Alberta man is representing himself on charges of child pornography.

Patrick Bryan Ryckman is accused of possessing and accessing child pornography.

The charges were filed in August 2009 after a memory stick was found in a study centre at the University of Lethbridge.

An investigation by university security found images of child pornography on the memory device.

Ryckman’s trial began today, and when questioned by the Court of Queen’s Bench judge, he agreed the images are child pornography.

The Crown plans to call 13 witnesses during the four-day trial.
