MEDICINE HAT — Police say they’ve charged a man with first-degree murder in the death of a two-year-old boy in southern Alberta.
Tjaye (TEE’-jay) William Heller of Medicine Hat is also charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and interference with a dead body.
The child died Tuesday.
Autopsy results aren’t yet available, but police have said he suffered head trauma.
The boy was in the care of a man he was not related to when emergency crews were called to a Medicine Hat home earlier this week.
Police have said neither the man nor the boy lived in the home.
