Man charged with murder in deaths of wife and her daughter

A man from northern Alberta has been charged in the deaths of his common-law wife and her daughter.

NAMPA — A man from northern Alberta has been charged in the deaths of his common-law wife and her daughter.

Police say Edward John Chomiak, who is 49, faces two counts of first-degree murder.

Chomiak, who is from Nampa near Peace River, was charged after the bodies of 45-year-old Melody Chomiak and her daughter Jerica Bouchard, 20, were discovered in a home near Fahler.

Officers went to the house after someone hung up during a 911 call.

Police are waiting for autopsy results.
