WESTLOCK — A man who came upon a crash that killed seven people in northern Alberta says he didn’t hesitate to help pull survivors from the burning wreckage.

Dion Lefebvre of Westlock says he saw the head-on collision happen last Friday on Highway 63.

When he ran to the wreckage, he heard a child crying and quickly unbuckled a three-year-old boy who was still alive inside.

He says his co-worker helped pull out the injured driver.

Lefebvre then lifted an 11-year-old girl from the other vehicle, but she later died in hospital.

He says it took almost an hour for emergency crews to reach the crash, which happened half way between Edmonton and Fort McMurray.
