Man jailed three years for gas station robbery

A man pleaded guilty last month to robbing the Shell Canada gas station in Gasoline Alley in 2008 and was sentenced to three years in jail.

A man pleaded guilty last month to robbing the Shell Canada gas station in Gasoline Alley in 2008 and was sentenced to three years in jail.

On April 28, 2008, a lone male with his face covered, brandishing a knife, robbed the clerk and made off with cash from the register.

RCMP were able to obtain both fingerprints and DNA from the scene which led them to Christopher Holmberg, who was 19 at the time of the robbery.

Holmberg was charged with robbery and another robbery related offence in February and pleaded guilty to both charges on April 24.
