CALGARY — An Alberta man has pleaded guilty to the aggravated assault of a six-week-old boy.
Dale Kunath (KOO’-nath), who is 28, was taken into custody following a lengthy investigation two years ago.
The original charges included sexual assault, but lawyers told a Calgary court the crime was not sexually motivated.
They said Kunath, who is from High River, wanted to inflict pain on the infant.
The boy’s health is reportedly improving and the severe scars he had are healing.
Kunath has been ordered to undergo a risk assessment and his case is to return to court Nov. 9 for sentencing arguments.
