An Alberta man has been given a 12-month conditional sentence after pleading guilty to committing an indignity to the body of a 19-year-old woman.
Christopher Podruzny of Grande Prairie was sentenced after he entered the guilty plea just as his trial was about to start in May.
The 22-year-old man was arrested last June following the discovery of human remains near the city.
A 14-year-old girl, who cannot be named because she is a minor, was also arrested.
The remains were later identified as Alysa Zatelny who had been reported missing earlier that month, but a publication ban was placed on details surrounding the case.
