One of two men charged in connection with a series of thefts throughout Central Alberta last fall has been given a conditional sentence of one year.
Olds-area residents Kevin Leischner, 43, and Jason Furlong, 29, were each charged in November with five counts of break and enter with intent to commit a criminal offence by RCMP investigating break-ins at homes and businesses in or near Sundre, Innisfail, Olds and Three Hills.
Furlong was sentenced to two years in jail after entering a guilty plea on Dec. 16.
Leischner pleaded guilty in the same court on Thursday to one count of break and enter with intent. The remaining charges were withdrawn as a result of the plea.
The two men were arrested and charged after police raided a series of properties in Olds and Sundre.
