EDMONTON — An Edmonton man has surrendered peacefully to police after a lengthy standoff at a home in the city’s southwest.

Police say the standoff began about 7 p.m. Sunday night when a man lost his temper and allegedly began waving a gun around and pointing it at other people in the house.

They managed to escape.

Police were worried about the man’s physical condition and barged through the garage Monday afternoon.

A police spokeswoman says the man was very co-operative and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
