When Vancouver-based rock band Merge plays Tracks Pub in Olds on Friday, it will be a homecoming for two of its musicians.

Lead guitarist Steve McMullen was born in Red Deer, but both he and bassist Warren Steckley were raised in the Didsbury/Olds area and are looking forward to performing back in their old stomping ground.

Merge is a band that marries the British pop influence with the American stadium rock sound. Lead singer David Anthony said the band formed in 2009 is all about merging melody lines with driving beats.

Merge’s last album, Falling Modern, features the single Wreckage.

There’s a $10 cover charge for the 8 p.m. show at 4919 49th Ave. in Olds. Call 403-556-6180 for more information.
