The next step in the Red Deer Optimist Rebels goal of advancing to the Telus Cup national midget AAA hockey championship, begins tonight.

The Rebels host the St. Albert Raiders in the opening game of the best-of-five Alberta Midget Hockey League final at 8 p.m. at the Arena.

The second game is set for Sunday at 2 p.m. in St. Albert with the third game Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Arena. If a fourth game is necessary it’s March 30th in St. Albert with the fifth game, if needed, April 1 at 3 p.m. at the Arena.

The winner will host the B.C. winner in the Pacific final with the winner advancing to the Telus Cup in Leduc.

The Vancouver Giants and the Prince George Cariboo Cougars meet in a best-of-three this weekend for the B.C. title.
