Logan Fisher’s goal was the winner as the Red Deer Optimist Rebels toppled host Edmonton Southside 3-2 Saturday.
Ty Mappin and Nick Glackin also tallied for Red Deer. Matt Zentner was the winning goaltender.
The Rebels, who also doubled the visiting Edmonton Maple Leafs 6-3 Friday, return to action Wednesday against the Northstars at Calgary’s Max Bell Centre.
Tyler Steenbergen’s two-goal performance Sunday helped the Red Deer Rebels Black post a 7-4 win over visiting Grande Prairie.
Also scoring for the winners were Shae Reynolds, Brennan Schweder, TJ Brown, Logan Linnell and Tyler Wall. Red Deer goalie Carson Franks made 24 saves.
Later in the day, Brody Dirk blocked 36 shots to help the Red Deer Rebels White gain a 3-3 draw with visiting Medicine Hat. Chase Olsen, with two goals, and Mack Differenz scored for the Rebels White.
The Rebels Black fell 7-1 to the visiting Calgary Bisons Saturday, their only goal coming from Schweder. Cole Sears and Franks combined to make 33 saves in a losing cause.
In a game Friday, Milton Elliot, Olsen and Quentin Greenwood tallied for the Rebels White and Brandon Biloeau made 26 saves in a 5-3 loss to visiting Grande Prairie.
Minor midget AAA
The Red Deer North Star Chiefs got two goals from Mark Thiessen in a 3-2 win over the Airdrie/Cochrane Avalanche.
James Gaume also scored for the Chiefs, while winning goalie Jayden Sittler made 27 saves.
The Red Deer Pro Stitch Chiefs split a pair of weekend road games, falling 8-3 to the Okotoks Oilers and defeating the Calgary Blackhawks 6-2.
Chris Rauckman scored two goals against Okotoks. Jack Goranson also tallied for the Chiefs and Brady Nydokus and Nick Galenzoski shared goaltending duties.
Alex Haldane erupted for three goals in the win at Calgary. Kyle Moore, Derrick Morrell and Rauckman had the other Pro Stitch markers and Galenzoski was the winning netminder.
Tristyn Zerubiak scored twice and Braden Olsen tallied once for Red Deer Frontier Bus Lines in a 4-3 loss to Stettler.
Frontier also fell 3-0 to the Kneehill Chiefs.
The Red Deer KFC Chiefs, with Jager Larsen, Jace Paarup and Josh Zinger each striking for two goals, defeated the Innisfail Flyers 7-2.
Hunter Marchildon also scored for KFC. Tyler Watt and Ethan Alvarez had the Flyers goals.
