Jacob Bottomley, Tayler Sincennes and Tyson Crampain also tallied for the Red Deer squad, which trailed 3-2 after two periods but rallied in the third to knot the best-of-three series at a game apiece. Replying for Ponoka were Tyler Bell, Cole Levesque and James Ursulak.

• Red Deer Frontier fell 2-0 to the Olds Elks in bantam A action.

• The Red Deer KFC Atom AA Chiefs dropped a pair of games to Stettler, falling 4-3 at the Kinex and 11-4 at Stettler.

Daylan Kuefler, Ryan Shirley, Rhett Shingoose and Alex DeYoung scored for Stettler at the Kinex, where Jager Larsen, Colby Chavez-Leech and Cole Hardman replied for KFC.

Kuefler and Shingoose each potted two goals in Stettler’s second win, with Shirley, DeYoung, Reece Smith, Jordan Burkard, Austin Jacobsen, Cole Heck and Beau Cooper also connecting for the hosts. Replying for Red Deer were Hunter Marchildon, Jace Paarup, Riley Sitko and Cameron Kungle.
