Minority government would put Tories in their place

We need a minority government in this province.

We need a minority government in this province.

I don’t care which party holds themselves out as the ruling party as long as there is a very strong opposition to it.

For too long the Conservatives have wielded their rule like a royal dynasty. For 40 years to be exact and it’s time for a change.

We got retiring MLAs giving themselves plum million-dollar severance packages, others receiving funds for sitting on committees for years in which they’ve never attended a meeting, no taxes being collected on their salaries, and now they’re using Alberta taxpayer dollars to plug their party for an up-and-coming election. All of it costing Alberta taxpayers tens of millions of dollars.

We got a health-care system that doesn’t offer quality health care, an education system that doesn’t (in my opinion) educate our children properly, a justice system that burdens the victims of crime instead of punishing the real criminals, and an aging population that is going to need immediate and serious attention.

We are long overdue for a change in the party that runs this province. If not a change then a severe reduction in the number of seats they hold therefore limiting the extent of their power.

The only way to do that is too vote against the Conservatives in the next election.

But who to vote for?

Well there are three or four other parties to chose from. Take your choice. Just don’t give the Conservatives a free hand to continue mining the gold from our wallets and giving us the shaft.

What I’d like to see is a provincial government that would open the books and honestly disclose to the public where the all the Alberta money has been going over the last 40 years. That will only be done with a minority government.

Besides the average Joe and Jolene taxpayer will benefit more with a minority government than a Conservative majority.

And in the words of Robin Williams, “Politicians are like diapers. They should be changed often and for the same reason.”
