LAKE LOUISE — A missing hiker from Calgary has been found dead on Castle Mountain near Lake Louise.

RCMP say Michael Hwang’s body was found on the upper reaches of the mountain.

They say it appears he had been rappelling down a rock face and fell onto rocks below.

Attempts to retrieve the body were hampered by high winds, so recovery efforts are to continue Wednesday.

Police say Hwang’s family has been notified.

Last month, two people fell to their deaths while hiking the popular Heart Creek trail east of Canmore.
