Heavy rain in the Rimbey and Eckville areas on Monday caused a semi-trailer truck to be washed off the road. Workers returned the vehicle to the road later Tuesday. There were no leaks from the incident. The truck was believed to be carrying molten sulphur. The incident happened on Hwy 766, approximately 2 kms north of Hwy 12. Hwy 766 was closed on Tuesday morning and there were reports other roads were closed in the area.

On Hwy 53, about 3 kms west of Rimbey, the highway was under several feet of water on Monday later afternoon. Some people were making it across and some were not. The photo of the water rushing over the Hwy 53 is Potter Creek, normally just a trickle of water that runs in a culvert under the highway.
