With the first snow falling Friday after a long spell of mild weather for November, the Christmas tree vendor at the Capri Centre swung open his gate and began selling Christmas trees. Joe Butterfield’s Christmas tree lots at the corner of Gaetz Avenue and 32nd Street and at the Parkland Mall, as well as in Lacombe, Camrose and Wetaskiwin have received their trees from the grower near Seattle, Wash. and are ready to help bring the Christmas spirit to Central Albertans. Lot vendor Martin, shown here, was taking stock and putting the trees on display Friday afternoon. A return of sunny weather expected Sunday will likely wipe away the winter’s snow.
