EDMONTON — A man is dead after the motorized wheelchair he was in collided with a pickup truck on an Edmonton street.
The 58-year-old man was thrown onto the road in the early morning crash and was pronounced dead at hospital.
Police Sgt. Brad Manz says investigators believe the crash victim was within a marked, light-equipped crosswalk, but they’re not sure if the lights were active at the time.
The manager at a nearby convenience store says the man, whose name has not been released, was a regular customer and had just left the business prior to the accident.
There is no word on whether the truck driver will be charged.
