Mountain View County’s deputy reeve has been given a promotion.
Council voted during its organizational meeting last week to make Bruce Beattie reeve for the next year. Councillor Patricia McKean was chosen to take over the deputy reeve role.
Both Beattie and McKean are serving their first terms on council after being elected in the October 2010 municipal election.
Former reeve Paddy Munro stepped down earlier this month because of health problems. Munro continues to serve as a councillor.
