We would like to thank the residents of Red Deer for their support and participation in the Neighbourhood Watch Program this past year.
Our Just Say Hi campaign this summer was very successful thanks to our co-ordinator Yusra Mazhar and the funding we received from the Red Deer and District Community Foundation, as well as the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
Neighbourhood Watch is a simple program. Neighbours get to know each other, look out for one another and are encouraged to report their tips and information to the RCMP.
The RCMP are not too busy and you are not bothering them by reporting vandalism, suspicious people, abandoned vehicles, break and enters, vehicle break-ins and other incidents that happen in your neighbourhood. Regardless of how small or insignificant it might seem — you know your neighbourhood best as far as what is normal, odd or suspicious.
The RCMP may be able to identify a bigger issue or trend going on in your neighbourhood because of the information you report.
New co-chairs Sonya Radtke and Lorraine Pitts are pleased to invite everyone to participate in some table talk discussion about the future of Neighbourhood Watch at the Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Downtown RCMP Detachment.
