Neighbours wonder if they could have helped Calgary mom, dead babies

Neighbours of a woman whose body was found in a house with three dead newborns are wondering if they could have done anything to help.

CALGARY — Neighbours of a woman whose body was found in a house with three dead newborns are wondering if they could have done anything to help.

Khalil Karbani, who heads the Taradale Community Association, says he’s been hearing all day from people who wish they’d known something was wrong.

Police revealed Thursday that the bodies were found over the weekend in the northeast home.

They say the deaths of the babies are considered suspicious, while the death of 27-year-old Harsimrat Kahlon is not.

They will neither confirm nor deny reports in the Calgary Sun that the babies were not triplets and were born at separate times.

Karbani says the woman seemed to be a bit reclusive and despite talking to neighbours all day he hasn’t found anyone who knew her well.
