Nominations open for Alberta Business Awards of Distinction

The Alberta Chambers of Commerce is accepting nominations for its Alberta Business Awards of Distinction.Now in their 21st year, the awards recognize innovative and progressive businesses and business people in Alberta.

Now in their 21st year, the awards recognize innovative and progressive businesses and business people in Alberta.

The 10 award categories consist of Aboriginal Woman Entrepreneur, Diversity Leadership, Employer of Persons with Disabilities, Employer of Youth, Small Business, Aboriginal Relations — Best Practice, Eagle Feather Business, Marketing, Youth Entrepreneur and Export.

All finalists are eligible for the Premier’s Award of Distinction.

Nomination information can be found online at www.abbusinessawards.com, with deadline for entries Nov. 25. The awards ceremony will take place on March 2 in Edmonton.

Last year, Sunchild E-Learning Community Inc. of Rocky Mountain House was a finalist for the Eagle Feather Business Award of Distinction.

In 2009, Hytek Computer Sales and Service Ltd. founder Preston Irwin of Rocky won in an Aboriginal Youth Entrepreneur category and Samson Management of Hobbema received an Aboriginal Relations — Eagle Feather award.
