Oakes wins two at Sport Chek series

Jared Oakes was a double medalist in the U14 division for the Red Deer Ski Club at the Sport Chek Regional Series Giant Slalom at Canyon Ski Hill during the weekend.

Oakes won the second GS on Saturday after finishing second earlier.

Also in the same group on the boys’ side, Owen Green had a pair of fourth-place finishes and a sixth over the two-days of racing, which saw four individual races.

Kale Chessor had a sixth, seventh, eighth and a ninth.

In the U14 girls’ competition, Jasmine Photinopoulos had a third, a fifth and two sixth-place finishes.
