Oilers beat Grizzlys

Derek Bacon scored twice to lead the Okotoks Oilers to a 7-1 win over the Olds Grizzlys in Alberta Junior Hockey League playoff action Wednesday.

OKOTOKS — Derek Bacon scored twice to lead the Okotoks Oilers to a 7-1 win over the Olds Grizzlys in Alberta Junior Hockey League playoff action Wednesday.

Also scoring for the Oilers, who led 2-0 and 5-1 by periods and now trail the best-of-seven South Division semifinal 3-2, were Alex Kromm, Cody Irving, Tyler Krause, Robbie Fisher and Scott Bolland. Dylan Hubbs accounted for the lone Olds goal.

Grizzlys netminder Brandon Thiessen stopped 19 shots before being replaced by Jesse Ehnisz, who finished with six saves.

Oilers goaltender Michael Tadjdeh blocked 22 shots.

Game 6 goes tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Olds Sports Complex.
