The victory gave the Grizzlys a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five South Division quarter-final which continues here tonight with the opening faceoff at 7:30 p.m.

The first period ended in a 2-2 tie as Corey Scott opened the scoring for Calgary with a short-handed marker at 6:17 and Mitch Owsley replied for Olds with a power-play goal 51 seconds later. From there, Ryan Wlkinson restored the Mustangs’ lead at 11:31 while on the power play, but Chase Paylor answered for the Grizzlys at 14:05.

Dunkle connected in the middle frame and the goal stood up the rest of the way.

Brandon Thiessen made 22 saves for the Grizzlys. Jay Deo was busier in the Mustangs’ net, turning aside 39 shots.
