EDMONTON — The RDC Queens hockey team finally found the scoreboard Saturday, but they couldn’t make it count — blowing a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 in overtime.

“It really was a tough one, it really was disappointing,” said Queens head coach Rob Weddell. “We had a power play opportunity in overtime as well and didn’t even get a shot off of it. Our go-to players that we need to step up aren’t stepping up.”

Emily Hnatiuk opened the scoring for the Queens 4:55 into the second period and Montana Noyse made it 2-0 30 seconds late.

Cali Groenhyde cut into the lead for NAIT three minutes and Jenn Hancock tied it 5:56 into the final frame.

The game remained tied into overtime where Laura Stosky scored for NAIT on the power play.

Kendra Lakeman made 27 saves in the loss for RDC.
