Two people convicted last fall for their involvement in a “dial-a-doper” crack cocaine operation are to be sentenced in Red Deer on May 11 — more than four years after they were arrested.

Calgary resident Fawisa Hassan, 24, and Dursa Mourme Tofik, 29, of Brooks, were arrested and charged on Christmas Day 2008. They were found guilty in Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench last September.

Sentence arguments had been postponed to Dec. 16 for a pre-sentence report and again to March 22.

The hearing could not go ahead that day because one of the defence lawyers was required at a jury trial that had gone longer than expected.

A Red Deer man who was also charged in the incident pleaded guilty in September 2009.

Mohammed Ahmen Mohamoud, 28, was sentenced to four years in prison on charges of drug trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and breaching bail conditions.
