A fire that engulfed a mobile home in Red Deer left two people homeless Saturday evening.

Fire responders were called to the Northwood Estates off of 76th Street and just after 8 p.m.

A passerby noticed smoke coming from the building and contacted the fire department.

“No one was home at the time and we have deemed the fire accidental and undetermined at this time,” fire investigator Bob Boudreau said on Tuesday.

The two individuals who lived in the residence arrived to find firefighters dousing their home. Both were assisted by the Red Cross.

“There was heavy smoke damage and substantial fire damage,” Boudreau said.

There were no injuries.
