Brett Pasula of Red Deer fashioned a round of 77 Sunday to claim top spot in the boys 14-16 division of the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s Mountainview Credit Union Classic at Olds Central Highlands.
“I was just trying not to mess it up,” said Pasula. “I just wanted to keep it in play and hit it near the green, and I did that. This is my first win on the MJT, so it is very exciting.”
Pasula, who also won the long drive competition in his category, edged Jared Nichols of Ponoka for the 14-16 division title. Nichols carded a 78.
Jesse Teron of Red Deer tied for fifth in the boys 17-19 division. Meanwhile, Michael and Allan Pruss of Red Deer turned in scores of 84 and 85 to finish tied for seventh place and alone in ninth, respectivey, in the 14-16 age class. Ryan and Derek Morrell of Red Deer each fired a 93.
