Pidherney’s Trucking Ltd. is in the running for a 2014 Contractor of the Year award.
The Rocky Mountain House construction company is a finalist in the Heavy Civil Contractor of the Year category.
It’s competing against Graham Group Ltd. and PCL Construction Management.
The Contractor of the Year Awards are organized by Alberta Venture, Merit Contractors Association and Alberta Roadbuilders & Heavy Construction Association.
The other award categories are Trade Contractor Under 15 Million in Annual Revenue, Trade Contractor Over 15 Million in Annual Revenue, General Contractor Under 50 Million in Annual Revenue, General Contractor Over 50 Million in Annual Revenue and Construction Person of the Year.
Les LaRocque, president of Botting & Associates Alberta, has already been named Construction Person of the Year. The rest of the winners will be announced April 17 in Calgary.
Pidherney’s was founded 50 years ago by Merv Pidherney. Last fall, Pidherney was named Ernst & Young’s 2013 Prairies Entrepreneur Of The Year for energy services.
