A Pincher Creek-area man died in a two-vehicle collision west of Bowden on Wednesday night.

A Pincher Creek-area man died in a two-vehicle collision west of Bowden on Wednesday night.

Two cars collided at the intersection of Hwy 587 and Range Road 14 and landed in the northeast ditch.

The man, driving north and attempting to cross the highway, was ejected from his car and pronounced dead at the scene.

The lone occupant of the other car, a 65-year-old woman from the Innisfail area, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Olds RCMP say speed and failing to stop at a stop sign contributed to the collision. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor.

No charges will be laid relating to this collision.

The deceased’s identity is not being released.

Olds RCMP detachment would like to remind motorists to obey traffic control devices like stop signs and remember to properly wear their seatbelt.
