CALGARY — Calgary police are alleging a man forgot he had a gun in his backpack when he came to the Calgary Courts Centre this week.
Officers also allege the gun was stolen and there was ammunition in the backpack.
A man was going through the security check-in area Monday when sheriffs saw an unloaded semi-automatic gun, ammunition and a small amount of marijuana while X-raying his backpack.
Staff Sgt. Nancy Farmer says police don’t believe there was any intent to use the weapon.
On Thursday, police announced they had laid a long list of charges against a suspect.
Carlos Javier Reyes, 22, of Calgary, is facing multiple weapons-related charges as well as at least one drug-related charge.
