VANCOUVER — Police say a 32-year-old Alberta man has been arrested following an early morning shooting incident outside a nightclub in downtown Vancouver.

A 32-year-old man is in hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound after the shooting in front of the Barcelona Lounge.

The suspect, who was known to police, allegedly got into a verbal argument with the doorman of the lounge.

Police say, at one point he suddenly and with complete disregard for the hundreds of people in the immediate area, pulled out a handgun and began firing shots at the doorman.

The doorman was hit in the leg and the suspect ran off.

Several bystanders and police officers who were in the club at the time gave chase and were able to catch the suspect.
