CALGARY — A Calgary woman says she was shocked and upset after seeing a jack rabbit run by with an arrow shot through its back.

Gina Rowley says she spotted the injured animal sprinting through the parking lot of the city’s football stadium.

She took a photograph of the rabbit which has a red arrow protruding on either side of its back.

Rowley says she hopes whoever skewered the animal is caught and punished.

Calgary police chased and tried to catch the injured creature, but it gave them the slip.

The incident comes a couple of weeks after somebody shot an arrow at a dog south of Calgary and police are still seeking a suspect in that case.
