CALGARY — A man is in hospital after he was shot twice by Calgary police.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team, which investigates such incidents, says the shooting happened in the city’s northwest Wednesday morning.
The organization says the man’s wounds are not considered life threatening.
Police Chief Rick Hanson is defending the actions of his officers.
A three-year member of the service fired at a man who police believe was earlier involved in an assault.
Hanson says a vehicle drove at the officers and one member opened fire.
