Police lay firearms charges after search at Samson First Nation

A man was charged with several firearm offences after police searched a residence at Samson First Nation on Tuesday.

A man was charged with several firearm offences after police searched a residence at Samson First Nation on Tuesday.

Three firearms were seized by Hobbema RCMP Community Response Unit, which executed a search warrant with an RCMP Emergency Response Team.

Noel Cardinal, 42, of Samson First Nation faces charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while knowing possession was unauthorized, careless storage of a firearm and possession of stolen property.

Cardinal is scheduled to appear in Wetaskiwin provincial court on March 29.
