Police looking for answers after cows shot and left in rural Alberta field

Police are trying to explain why eight cows were shot and left in a field just outside a landowner’s property in eastern Alberta.

BONNYVILLE — Police are trying to explain why eight cows were shot and left in a field just outside a landowner’s property in eastern Alberta.

Bonnyville RCMP say they are seeking witnesses to the shooting near LaCorey last month.

Police say they responded to a complaint June 29 and found the dead animals.

No attempt had been made to butcher them.

The shooting is believed to have occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on June 27 and 2 p.m. on June 29.
