A vacant house in the Stauffer area suffered up to $100,000 in damage after vandals ransacked it, RCMP said.

Const. James O’Brien of Rocky Mountain House RCMP said on Thursday that the house, southeast of Rocky, was ransacked about Nov. 3.

Police said windows were smashed, drywall kicked in and punched, paint splattered over hardwood floors, doors had hinges ripped off and kitchen cabinets were damaged.

The property was a foreclosure and police estimated the damage at $60,000 to $100,000.

RCMP forensic identification experts attended the scene.

O’Brien asks that anyone who knows anything about the vandalism contact Rocky RCMP at 403-845-2882 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
