Police release image of bank robbery suspect

Red Deer RCMP have released photos taken from video surveillance of a bank robbery at the Bower Place Alberta Treasury Branch, clearly showing a man holding a handgun during the incident.

Police are looking for the suspect in a Jan. 3 armed robbery of the ATB near the intersection of Gaetz Avenue and Molly Banister Drive.

Red Deer RCMP have released photos taken from video surveillance of a bank robbery at the Bower Place Alberta Treasury Branch, clearly showing a man holding a handgun during the incident.

Police are still looking for the suspect in a Jan. 3 armed robbery of the ATB near the intersection of Gaetz Avenue and Molly Banister Drive.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, about 1.6 to 1.65 metres (five feet three inches to five feet five inches) and has a thin build. He is about 40 to 50 years old, has blonde hair and wore wire-framed glasses, a grey hooded zip-up jacket over a lighter grey zip-up jacket, a blue button-up shirt over a white undershirt, blue jeans and black and white running shoes.

During the robbery, he wore green fabric gloves with black palms, a black balaclava, a black tuque with grey stripes and had his hood up.

Police believe this suspect may be connected to another bank robbery that took place in Edmonton on Jan. 2.
