EDMONTON — Investigators in Edmonton have charged four men with more than two dozen criminal offences that police allege were motivated by hate.

Police say four men were seen handing out flyers about a white supremacist group at a light-rail transit station last month.

They were kicked off by security officers at the next station and walked down a popular avenue where they handed out and posted more flyers.

Police say the group went to several bars and directed hateful and racist comments at certain individuals — three people complained of being assaulted.

Charges against the suspects include criminal harassment, assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

The accused are to appear in court March 17.
