Police say a tourist from the Dominican Republic who disappeared while in Saskatchewan may not want to be found.

KAMSACK, Sask. — Police say a tourist from the Dominican Republic who disappeared while in Saskatchewan may not want to be found.

RCMP in Kamsack say Santos Nunez had a significant amount of cash with him and may have headed to the United States.

There were initially health concerns about Nunez, who became separated from his group in an area about 90 kilometres northeast of Yorkton on Sunday.

He jumped from a moving vehicle and ran into the bush after complaining about stomach pains.

Police now say the stomach complaints may have been faked so he could get away since his family has said he had no known health problems.

Investigators say the 50-year-old is not a danger to the public, but ask that anyone who may have seen him to contact the Kamsack detachment.
