Five young men have been taken into custody after a replica gun was pointed at people from a car in Red Deer, Alberta.

RED DEER — Five young men have been taken into custody after a replica gun was pointed at people from a car in Red Deer, Alberta.

RCMP say they got reports around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday about five males driving around in a small car and pointing a firearm at people.

Police responded quickly and found the vehicle shortly after.

Officers stopped the vehicle and found a replica firearm.

The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.

RCMP say pointing an imitation firearm can lead to serious police response and consequences.
