The Alberta Utilities Commission has cancelled the oral hearing concerning the need to reinforce the electrical transmission system in the Red Deer region.
The Alberta Electric System Operator filed the application about the proposed development and the oral hearing was set to begin on June 5.
The commission asked members of the public interested in participating in the hearing to submit a list of concerns and issues with the application before Feb. 2.
No submissions were received by the AUC. The City of Red Deer did file a concern but it was later withdrawn.
Additionally, no one appeared at the pre-hearing conference on Feb. 9 in Red Deer.
AUC has decided the oral public hearing is not necessary and is now reviewing this application through a written hearing process.
