Thousands gather Tuesday during a mass Buddhist ordination ceremony at Wat Dhammakya on the outskirts of Bangkok. More than 20,000 Buddhist novice monks gathered to offer prayers for world peace and the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan. In Thailand men are expected to become a Buddhist monk at least once in their life.
