Jeffery Leinen, 25, returns to Didsbury provincial court on Aug. 31 to hear what major charge he will stand trial on in Calgary Court of Queen’s Bench.

A preliminary hearing in Didsbury concluded Wednesday.

Eighteen-year-old Nicholas Baier was killed after a truck drove through a crowd of people outside the Texas Mickey bar in Olds on Oct. 29.

Leinen is also charged with dangerous operation causing death, dangerous operation causing bodily harm, and drunk driving causing death and bodily harm.

First-degree murder includes planning and deliberation while second-degree does not.

Another person was also injured in the incident.

There was a ban on evidence heard at the preliminary hearing.
